2018 40 Under 40: Britton Jobe, 34

Britton Jobe is a law firm partner by day and a community advocate around the clock. Take Uber and Lyft for example. They might not be operating in Springfield but for Jobe and others pushing to amend city code permitting the transportation network companies. His next burning issue: to improve the aesthetics of the city’s front doors – the transportation routes to and from the airport and along the major highways. Jobe always has economic development on the mind.

Neale & Newman LLP named Jobe partner a few years ago. Jobe served as 2017 chairman for The Network’s Leadership Council, and in turn the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce group named him the Young Professional of the Year.

What is your best productivity hack? I’m sure I won’t be the only one with this answer, but coffee.

What did you learn the hard way? Three words: student loan interest.

What is your proudest moment? I had the opportunity fairly early in my career to argue a case before the Supreme Court of Missouri.

How many times do you hit the snooze button in the morning? If I set a reasonable wake-up time, zero.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be? Time travel.

What app gets you through the day? Twitter – news, sports and politics, all delivered efficiently with a bit of sarcasm.
