2015 40 Under 40 Honoree: Dr. Steven Loehr

Posted online
Opening Loehr Chiropractic & Acupuncture LLC just over one year ago was the fulfillment of a longtime dream for Dr. Steven Loehr. During its first year, his professional office has grown to be recognized as one of the largest chiropractic practices in the region.

“This community was missing a true holistic wellness model that offers health services without drugs or surgery,” Loehr says. “Instead we’re able to emphasize prevention through exercise, rehab and diet, and marry eastern and western medicine to provide natural treatment options for healing.”

Loehr also has demonstrated professional leadership by introducing the fields of pediatric and prenatal chiropractic care to the area, in addition to working to bridge the gap traditionally found between the medical field and chiropractic care providers.

“I have coordinated roundtable presentations with health care providers at the Mercy Spine Center to discuss …treatment options of neurological symptoms and disorders,” he says. “Furthermore, I have nurtured critical relationships with local OB/GYNs to provide optimum care for expecting mothers and women facing fertility issues.

“Consistent with my passion for pediatric and prenatal care, I developed the first partnership of its kind with local midwives when their profession became legalized.”

Loehr strives to focus his community volunteer efforts in areas where he is particularly passionate and can significantly apply his skills and strengths. Having lost his grandmother to multiple sclerosis, he completed his first ride in the MS 150 last year and has joined the MS Society board of directors.

Also, along with other doctors on his staff, he provides rotating chiropractic care for clients at The Kitchen Clinic who would not otherwise be able to afford services. He has also volunteered staff for work with Gathering of Friends, Ronald McDonald House, Ozarks Food Harvest and Isabel’s House.

With his strong entrepreneurial drive, Loehr frequently applies his talents to influence the success of other aspiring and new business owners, giving time and expertise to review business plans, explore funding options and other strategies. He recently coached a former co-worker on plans to launch a wellness facility in the Dallas area.

“I have the daily privilege of influencing the success of my patients through our unique practice model,” Loehr says. “At Loehr Chiropractic & Acupuncture, we never just ‘fix your back pain and send you on your way.’ The willingness of my patients to provide positive testimonies and the large number of new patients who come to our practice through a referral are proof of this influence.”

“Being a young chiropractor has not stopped me from introducing and pursuing a unique and desperately needed model of optimum wellness to the Springfield market, and doing so with industry-leading new patient and collections metrics.”[[In-content Ad]]
