Mission:
Youth of the Ozarks (YOTO), Inc. is dedicated to the principles of recycling, reducing & reusing. YOTO takes in reusable & re-sellable goods so as to generate profits to share with local children’s charities. YOTO operates as a 'green' business and reduces the amount of 'stuff' that is landfill bound
Service Area:
City of Springfield & its immediate metro population
Funding:
Over 80% comes from the sale of items donated to YOTO Community Thrift Store. We are seeking grants and are formulating our two major fundraisers this year. As of this printing, our box truck fundraiser will be happening via causemomentum.org and through other entities like Facebook as well.
12-Month Goals:
1) To attain a 'box truck' to aid in the pick-up of donations and the delivery of large items. 2) To find buyers of ALL of our recycled goods 3) To partner with more local based, children's charities like Cents of Pride and Wish I May and assist them with funding and quality donations
How People and Businesses Can Help:
The greatest help comes via referrals or 'word of mouth' from our satisfied donors and customers at the store. 100% of the shared proceeds stay local. Not every thrift operation in town can claim this. Individuals and businesses who donate to us can write that donation off on the taxes with the IRS.
Volunteer Opportunities:
During the spring and summer months the amount of donated goods increase and we get even busier 'processing' those items for sale. It's during these times that people with as little as an hour a week can help us by coming by to clean, sort and get items ready to sell. Thinking of YOTO first is best.
