Mission Statement:
The Child Advocacy Center puts the needs of the child first in an investigation for abuse.

Service Area:
The Child Advocacy Center serves 18 counties in southwest and south central Missouri: Cedar, Christian, Dade, Dallas, Douglas, Greene, Hickory, Howell, Laclede, Lawrence, Oregon, Ozark, Polk, Shannon, Taney, Texas, Webster and Wright.

Funding:
The Child Advocacy Center secures funds from a diverse pool of activities to meet our program needs: state appropriations; federal, state and local grants; donor development; special events; an annual campaign; community outreach; and planned giving.

12-month Goals:
The Child Advocacy Center will meet the demands of an ever-growing case load by expanding our donor base in both southwest and south central Missouri and by increasing planned and endowed gifts.

Annual Events:
High Stakes Chili - be a sponsor, donate an auction item, purchase tickets; Burgers & Cheers - be a sponsor, donate an auction item, purchase tickets; Voice for a Child 5K in West Plains - be a sponsor, donated a door prize, run; Think Small-Go Big Dinner - be a sponsor, purchase a table, purchase tickets; Annual Campaign - give generously;

How People and Businesses Can Help:
 Be an event sponsor or donate any time during the year; Be a vocal advocate for our center and for abused children; Organize a group work session with co-workers, a church congregation or service club; Hold a supply drive for paper goods, cleaning supplies, office supplies, etc.

Volunteer Opportunities:
Individuals interested in volunteering at the time when children are onsite must pass a background check and commit to a minimum number of hours (due to the sensitive nature of our services.) Employee, church or service club groups are invited to organize a work session after 5 p.m. on weekdays or on a Saturday to shampoo rugs, weed and trim landscaping, clean toys, etc.

Testimonial:
“To the CAC staff, I just want to say ‘thanks’ for what you have done for me and my family. Getting through these personal thoughts and feelings was hard. At first I thought this would not help and just make things worse. But it turned out that it REALLY HELPED ME GET THROUGH THIS. I feel like I can talk to you guys any time. Thanks a LOT.”
        – 12-year-old child victim
