Funding: The Alzheimer's Association actively secures funding through our annual Walk to End Alzheimer's and Reason to Hope events. Additional income from grants, corporate and individual donations provides the remaining funding for programs and services.
12 Month Goals: 1) Grow the Alzheimer's movement locally by increasing the number of Walk to End Alzheimer's participants. 2) Increase utilization of our information, support services and referral services by increasing awareness of Alzheimer's Disease and our services. 3) Improve meaningful engagement of early-stage constituents and their families, 4) Increase number of advocates. 5) Increase funding for research.
Annual Events: Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the largest fundraising and awareness campaign for Alzheimer's disease nationwide. The Springfield Walk to End Alzheimer's is scheduled for September 21, 2013. Reason to Hope is an informational luncheon to generate new support for the mission of the Alzheimer's Association.
How People and Businesses can help: Individuals and local businesses can help the Alzheimer's Association by volunteering, sponsoring our Walk to End Alzheimer's, individual donations, corporate partnerships, becoming an advocate, or starting a walk team.
Volunteer Opportunities: The Alzheimer's Association is a volunteer driven organization that depends upon volunteers to help successfully fulfill our mission. A great way to get involved is to join an annual event planning committee, public policy committee, or local board. Volunteers are also welcome in our office.
