Mission StatementOur mission is to provide a child-friendly environment that reduces stress on children who may have been victims of abuse.
Service AreaThe Child Advocacy Center serves 18 counties in southwest Missouri: Cedar, Christian, Dade, Dallas, Douglas, Greene, Hickory, Howell, Laclede, Lawrence, Oregon, Ozark, Polk, Shannon, Taney, Texas, Webster and Wright.
FundingThe Child Advocacy Center secures funds from a diverse pool of activities to meet our

annual operating and program needs: State appropriations; Federal, state and local grants; Donor development; Fundraising and special events; Annual campaign; Community outreach; and Social media.
12-month Goals1) Sustain support for the South Central CAC (our new satellite center) in West Plains.
2) Recruit more nurse practitioners/physicians for Springfield and satellite centers.
3) Increase planned and endowed gifts.
4) Integrate more social media into communication/fundraising efforts.
Annual EventsHigh Stakes Chili - be a sponsor, donate an auction item, purchase tickets. Burgers & Cheers - be a sponsor, donate an auction item, purchase tickets. Ferguson Award Dinner - be a sponsor, purchase a table, purchase tickets. Annual Campaign - make a (BIG) donation!
Thanks for Giving Brunch - purchase tickets; consider an end-of-the-year donation.
How People and Businesses Can HelpSending money is always encouraged! Also: Be an advocate for our center and for abused children; Organize a group work day at the CAC (call for details); Hold a supply “drive” (paper goods, office supplies, cleaning supplies) on our behalf at work, church or with a service group.
Volunteer Opportunities Individuals interested in volunteering must pass a background check and commit to a minimum number of hours, due to the sensitive and confidential nature of our services. Groups can organize a work session after 5 p.m. on weekdays or on a Saturday to shampoo rugs, rake leaves, clean toys, etc.
Testimonial“To the CAC staff, I just wanted to say thanks for what you have done for me and my family. Getting through these personal thoughts and feelings was hard. At first I thought this would not help and just make things worse, but it turned out that it REALLY HELPED ME GET THROUGH THIS. I feel like I can talk to you guys any time. Thanks a LOT.”
