Six southwest Missouri school districts are the recipients of a combined $200,000 in grants through funds administered by Community Foundation of the Ozarks Inc.
The Clinton and Nancy Schilling Technical Educational Grant Program is funded by the Clinton and Nancy Schilling Community Fund. CFO announced the grants in a news release this week.
The grant recipients are as follows:
• Carthage R-IX School District, $47,159 to buy equipment for manufacturing training
• Golden City R-III School District, $50,000 for an animal science laboratory
• Greenfield R-IV School District, $11,000 for updated home economics class educational materials and $3,299 for high school accounting curriculum
• Lamar R-1 School District/Lamar Career and Technical Center, $31,042 to update automotive equipment and buy carpentry equipment
• Lockwood R-1 School District, $50,000 to build a greenhouse
• Webb City School District, $7,500 for drone technology learning experiences
The late Clinton and Nancy Schilling donated farmland through a planned gift in their estate to create the fund that provided the grants, according to the release.
