2009 40 Under 40 Honoree: Will Worsham

Posted online
Will Worsham is an attorney with an entrepreneurial spirit.

Since obtaining his law degree in 1996 from the University of Missouri-Columbia, he's practiced law with Gannaway, Fiorell & Cummings, was managing attorney for The Ticket Center and served as a assistant prosecuting attorney for Greene County.

In 2002, Worsham founded MissouriTrafficTickets.com, a site that offers online legal services for people with traffic violations.

"Our company has handled more than 10,000 cases online," Worsham says. "Because of our case volume, we have developed software specifically for the online legal industry."

The success of MissouriTrafficTickets.com and the new software have enabled him to franchise the business in four states.

Worsham's newest business is EvictionsQuick.com, which offers landlords an inexpensive and simple way to file rent-and-possession actions in court.

Worsham's legal practice currently has five employees, but he plans to expand his staff when he relocates to a historic building he's restoring in downtown Springfield at 325 South Ave.

"As a business owner, I have the privilege of employing people with a troubled past ... to give them an opportunity to get back on their feet through steady employment and opportunity for advancement," he says.

In the midst of his entrepreneurial endeavors, Worsham finds time to give back to the community. He helped found the Logan-Rogersville Educational Foundation in 2003 and it is one of his proudest accomplishments.

To date, Worsham says the foundation has raised more than $200,000 to promote educational excellence in Logan-Rogersville Schools.

As foundation president, Worsham was recently invited by Springfield Rep. Bob Dixon to testify before the Missouri House of Representatives' committee on elementary and secondary education in favor of a bill authorizing tax credits for public school foundation donations.

Worsham also supports American Cancer Society, serving as host of the annual Relay for Life in Rogersville, as well as lending his time and talents to such organizations as Developmental Center of the Ozarks and Camp Barnabas. Serving as a cub master for Cub Scout Pack 46 also affords Worsham opportunities to contribute to the success of others.

"I've been able to encourage and influence young men to become good citizens through their scouting experience," Worsham says.
