Lisa Street has dedicated her career to improving the lives of children and families and challenges herself to constantly seek new ways of doing so.
Street, a licensed clinical social worker, is coordinator of the Family Dependency Treatment Court, having helped plan and secure funding for the program that started in 2004.
FDTC is a specialized judicial program that serves families with children in protective custody due to parental substance abuse.
Street oversees the program’s three-year budget of more than $700,000, supervises program contractors and maintains financial compliance and grant awards, in addition to facilitating administrative meetings and working closely with clients and staff members.
“It has been extremely fulfilling to help lead a group of community partners to launch and sustain this program,” she said.
“More importantly, it is gratifying to help parents overcome their addictions, see improvements in their parenting and witness the benefits for their children and families.”
Street says she was given excellent business advice from Greene County Family Court Administrator and Chief Juvenile Officer Perry Epperly, who gave her the book, “You Don’t Need a Title to be a Leader,” by Mark Sanborn.
“In a world that often endorses climbing the ladder of success at any cost to others or yourself, it is enlightening to realize that it’s leaders with a servant’s heart who truly impact their workplace and world in lasting, meaningful ways,” Street said.
Street has been married for 14 years to her husband, Craig, and they have an 18-month-old son, Zachary.
“Through my professional work, I hope to model for him the value of compassion and helping others, of kindness and caring, of empathy and social responsibility,” Street said.
