Growing up on a southwest Missouri farm was the basis of Dr. Jason Crockett’s success as a chiropractor with Crockett Chiropractic PC.

“My father taught me how to work hard and the importance of getting an early start on the day,” Crockett said. “This isn't advice but a mentality to succeed. My mother, who is a nurse, also taught me compassion and a good ear are the best tools of any good physician.”

Crockett’s Missouri resourcefulness helped him see opportunity in 2001 when he bought a failing chiropractic practice in north Springfield.

“I saw the possibilities, not the current state,” Crockett said. “I enjoyed the challenges of taking the office from a point of nonexistence to profitability in three months. Granted, it wasn't a huge profit, but it was a start.”

In the past five years, Crockett’s practice has grown to six employees from two. He’s also adding four exam rooms to his office to accommodate his growing client base.

In addition to serving patients, Crockett’s practice supports the community in several ways, including raising funds for the Eric Westacott Foundation, which supports spinal-injury research and is named for a Missouri State University student who was hurt during an intramural baseball game.

“As a chiropractic clinic, spinal health in the community is always our focus,” Crockett said.

Crockett’s practice also participates in food drives and school supply drives, but he said his most satisfying experiences are helping patients, including a recent one from Texas.

“After traveling to Springfield and receiving care for four weeks, the patient returned to Texas and was able to go back to work for the first time in over a year,” Crockett said.

Crockett has been married to his wife, Jill, for five years, and they have a 2-year-old daughter, Jenna.
