20 million Indians get 50% tax cut

Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley yesterday revealed a budget that cuts taxes for 20 million citizens by 50 percent.

The budget drops the tax rate to 5 percent from 10 percent on income between $3,700 and $7,400.

Indians who earn less than $3,700 do not pay income tax.
