2 Americans among 84 dead in Bastille Day attack

French officials are investigating a seaside terror attack in Nice that killed 84 people, including two Americans.

Initial finding indicate the driver of a truck who plowed into holidaymakers watching fireworks may be a local Frenchman of Tunisian descent with a criminal record but no known link to extremists.

After plowing through a crowd during the annual Bastille Day celebrations, the suspect was killed in a shootout with police.

Officials are calling the attack an act of terrorism, the worst since a series of coordinated sieges across Paris killed 130 in November.
