Tuscaloosa, Ala.-based Peco Foods Inc. is expected to unveil plans on March 10 for a new $165 million integrated poultry operation in northeast Arkansas.
The processing plant would be constructed on 200 acres about two miles south of Pocahontas, Ark., near the intersection of Highway 90 and U.S. 67. Starting employment at the facility is anticipated to be 350, with a payroll that could climb to 1,000 in the months following a projected January 2016 opening.
Peco Foods also is planning to develp a feed mill-grain storage facility on a 168-acre site on the north side of Corning, which should be operational by August 2015. Employment at the Corning facility is expected to start at 40 and increase up to 55, according to Arkansas Business.
