14 million-dollar homes sold in central Ark.

Posted online
Arkansas Business finds 14 homes sold for $1 million or more in central Arkansas last year, a statistic slightly above the number of high-end home sales in 2012.

However, a decade ago, 29 home sales crossed the million-dollar mark in Pulaski County, a sign of the times in residential real estate.

As of last week, the business journal reported 35 homes priced at $1 million or more were listed for sale in Pulaski County.

Topping the list of $1 million sales in 2013 is a $2.6 million purchase by Rick Ashley, president and owner of North Little Rock commercial property firm and an investor in Conway, Ark.-based Home BancShares Inc. Ashley’s bank stock is worth almost $84 million.

Other buyers include the son of Arkansas auto tycoon Steve Landers, a doctor at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and a managing director of The Stephens Group, a private equity firm in Little Rock, Ark.

The 14 homes are pictured, along with summaries on the deals.
