13 private companies make KC Billionaire Club

Posted online
Kansas City’s Private Company Billionaire Club has just 13 members. Those companies have punched beyond the nine-figure revenue threshold without the benefits — and headaches — of raising capital through the stock markets.

According to the Kansas City Business Journal, the companies are:
  • Dairy Farmers of America;
  • Lansing Trade Group;
  • Associated Wholesale Grocers;
  • Van Tuyl Group;
  • The Scoular Co.;
  • Hallmark Cards Inc.;
  • Black & Veatch;
  • Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City;
  • Bartlett & Co.;
  • JE Dunn Construction;
  • Burns & McDonnell;
  • Lockton Cos.; and
  • NPC International.
