According to a survey conducted for Shop.org by Ohio-based BIGresearch, approximately 106.9 million Americans will log on to their computers today to participate in Cyber Monday, the Web Black Friday equivalent.
The survey polled 4,386 consumers from Nov. 25 to Nov. 27, according to a news release from Shop.org parent company National Retail Federation, based in Washington D.C.
The number of consumers hitting the Internet has grown since last year, when about 96.5 million shoppers participated, the release said.
The survey also found that more people will shop using their smartphones this year. More than 7 million people will use a phone for Cyber Monday shopping, the release said.
Shop.org's
CyberMonday.com conglomerates holiday promotions from more than 700 retailers.

Amazon.com also is offering an extensive
Cyber Monday selection.
Other area retailers, such as the
Missouri State University Bookstore,
Justice Jewelers and the Branson-based franchise
Apricot Lane Boutique, also are offering Cyber Monday deals.
