$105M luxury apartments planned for downtown KC

Posted online
In an effort to meet spillover demand for the $79 million luxury apartments in the Kansas City Power & Light district named One Light tower, developers have announced plans for an even more expensive complex called Two Light.

Following the opening of One Light, developer Cordish Co. is planning Two Light, a 24-story $105 million high rise coming to what is now a parking lot at the corner of Grand Boulevard and North Truman Road.

More than 1,500 people have signed One Light’s waiting list, which is expected to open to tenants in seven months, and 35 percent of the apartments are fully pre-leased.

Construction of the new complex is slated to start in early 2016 and be complete in two years. According to the Kansas City Business Journal, the 300-unit facility will house up to 450 residents and will feature a nearly 500-space parking garage, as well as 31,000 square feet of retail and 15,000 square feet of office space.
