2023 Most Influential Women: Jacqueline Post

Marketing consultant

With a career built on a foundation of fostering positive change, Jacqueline Post has spent over 10 years in the credit union industry advocating for process updates and questioning the status quo.

She says this all starts with valuing and putting communication first and living out her purpose within the community.

In September, Post stepped away from her role as chief growth officer at Volt Credit Union to pursue a new career in marketing consulting.

Prior to working at Volt, Post was chief experience officer at BluCurrent Credit Union, 2012-22.

“I believe my purpose is to lead any organization I am a part of professionally to success,” Post says.

Whether that is tied to her profession or giving back to nonprofits and industry associations, Post says her values remain the same.

“I discovered that there are other ways that I can lead and support the community,” she says.

Post is passionate about social issues, such as affordable housing and equality for women in the workplace, which led her to find volunteer opportunities that she could tie directly back to her professional roles.

Post has spent six years on the board of directors for Habitat for Humanity of Springfield, Missouri Inc., including a stint as chair, and currently serves on the marketing committee. She’s also a committee chair for the Association for Women in Communications Springfield chapter and a board member of the Think Big Foundation of Missouri Inc. benefiting Big Brothers of the Ozarks Inc., which she joined in 2017 as the first woman on the board.

“I have been able to learn about textile recycling and repurposing while providing marketing and branding expertise to grow donations,” she says of the initiative that sells donated clothes to generate funds for the nonprofit.

She adds that it’s important to her to encourage others to broaden their own roles in the community and seek new opportunities, even if it might be uncomfortable.

“I had to bring these opportunities to my supervisor, prepared to advocate for why they would help me with my role professionally and further fulfill my purpose,” she says.

Learning and growing are other values Post holds close, evident in her obtaining an MBA from Missouri State University in three semesters while managing full-time work.

“I cannot stop learning,” she says. “This looks like webinars, trade pubs and more in the professional setting. I am also very interested in studying innovation and success in outside industries. I encourage staff to stay curious and keep absorbing knowledge.”

Post says receiving her MBA was one of her proudest personal accomplishments.

Post, who has found herself in many firsts professionally, such as being one of the first C-suite level employees in a previous job, is about to embark on a new first following her decade of work with credit unions: becoming a business owner.

Post says she is building a marketing consulting business which she aims to launch by the end of 2023.

“I hope to collaborate, train and mentor younger or fresher marketing staff at different organizations,” she says.
