The state of Alabama has reached a settlement with TikTok and its Chinese parent company, ByteDance.
The deal requires the social media platform to impose usage limits and enhanced age-verification measures.
TikTok is required to pay at least $100 million to Alabama. That figure could grow to $300 million if 40 other state attorneys general sign similar agreements with TikTok, according to Reuters.
