Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey's office has obtained a judgment against a defunct car dealership in Lebanon.
Var-iety Auto’s LLC has been ordered by Bailey's office to pay $27,000 to recoup losses from customers who allegedly never received certificates of title or promised warranty work after buying vehicles, according to a news release. Eight drivers' losses are covered under the judgment.
The dealership was owned by Marcus Hill, who is currently incarcerated in the Laclede County Jail on 13 felony counts of unlawful business practices brought by the attorney general's office in 2022, according to the release.
“As attorney general, I will always work to hold those who attempt to rip off innocent Missourians accountable,” Bailey said in the release. “This result is a testament to the diligent work my Consumer Protection Unit puts in to protect consumers throughout the state.”
Moseley’s Discount Office Products was purchased; Side Chick opened in Branson; and the Springfield franchise store of NoBaked Cookie Dough changed ownership.
