The Washington Post reports the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee helped fund a dossier containing allegations about President Donald Trump's connections to Russia and possible coordination between his campaign and the Krelim.
Marc Elias, an attorney representing the Clinton campaign and the DNC, reportedly retained Washington research firm Fusion GPS for the work, sources familiar with the matter told The Washington Post.
Fushion then hired dossier author Christopher Steele, a former British intelligence officer, according to the sources.
The dossier alleged the Russian government collected compromising information about Trump and that the Kremlin assisted his election as president.
