At Branson Bank, Halley Fleming frequently spearheads programs to better her employer and the community. When Fleming, 36, joined the bank in 2009, the self-described military kid created a Veteran of the Quarter program, which honors those in the armed forces by telling their story on various platforms and with a ceremony. Nearly 40 have been honored since its inception.
Two years ago, Fleming started a student internship program, leading the bank last spring to create an information technology position for its first intern.
Fleming also has made her mark outside of the bank, including service with the Rotary Club of Branson-Hollister, Boys & Girls Club of the Ozarks and the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce & Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Proudest moment? When my son asked Jesus into his heart.
What are you doing to make the Ozarks better? When a co-worker, friend or neighbor puts their blood, sweat and tears into an endeavor, I am going to be there cheering them along the way.
What did you learn the hard way? If it is always sunshine and cupcakes, how would you ever, by comparison, enjoy the fruits of your labor?
Most treasured possession? A running watch that belonged to my best friend, Georgie. She was my running partner and the one person who had my back. Georgie passed away in 2009.
Favorite hobby or pastime? Hiking, running, biking – let the adventure begin!
