U.S. Steel shareholders have approved a proposed acquisition by Japan’s Nippon Steel.
Some 98% of shareholders were in favor of the $14 billion deal, according to U.S. Steel officials.
The proposal continues to face opposition from unions and politicians, according to CNN.
