Trump wants to cut back on food stamps, substitute packaged food deliveries

President Donald Trump's administration issued a proposal to cut back the federal food stamp program and replace a portion with packaged food deliveries.

White House budget director Mick Mulvaney compared the model with meal-kit delivery service Blue Apron.

The White House said the new boxes would go to households qualifying for $90 or more per month in food stamps.
