President Donald Trump plans to nominate former Air Force General David Stilwell as the top diplomat for East Asia.
Stilwell is a former career fighter pilot who also speaks Korean, Chinese and some Japanese, according to Reuters.
The East Asia diplomat post has gone unfilled for more than a year.
