Taco John’s gives up Taco Tuesday trademark

Taco John’s is giving up its Taco Tuesday trademark.

Taco Bell filed a petition with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in May to cancel the "common term." Taco John's officials said the company doesn't want to be “paying millions of dollars to lawyers” to defend its position.

Taco John’s now is asking those that use Taco Tuesday marketing to contribute to a fund that helps its employees who are facing crises.
