STL circuit attorney resigns earlier than expected

Embattled St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner has resigned sooner than expected.

She exited yesterday after previously announcing plans to step down June 1.

Gardner has come under fire for her office's alleged missteps involving a crash that caused a visiting volleyball player to lose both her legs.

Gov. Mike Parson soon is expected to name Gardner’s replacement.
