Pine Bluff, Arkansas-based Simmons First National Corp. agreed to purchase St. Louis-area banking company Reliance Bancshares Inc. for $172 million.
The holding company of Reliance Bank, based in the St. Louis suburb of Des Peres, operates 22 branches and has $1.5 billion in assets.
"After taking some time to fully integrate our 2017 acquisitions, we are now pleased to announce the next chapter of Simmons' M&A story," Simmons CEO George Makris Jr. said in a news release.
