Federal prosecutors have filed criminal charges against U.S. Rep. George Santos, R-New York, people familiar with the matter told CNN.
The representative has been under investigation for allegations of false statements in his campaign finance filings and other claims.
Santos was elected last year to represent a district that includes portions of Long Island and Queens.
