Pizza restaurant in Reeds Spring changes hands

Posted online

A downtown Reeds Spring pizza restaurant has changed hands.

Business partners Jessica Steinert and Tyrell Ransom announced in a public Facebook post late last month that they were taking on ownership of the 22065 Main St. location of Reeds Spring Pizza Co. on Jan. 1.

Seller Alisha Grant, who purchased the concept in 2021, announced in a separate Facebook post that she and her sons "retain all rights to the Reeds Spring Pizza Co. name and recipes, and we are excited to continue to work towards our dream of expanding the Pizza Co." The Grant family is seeking a site for a new Reeds Spring Pizza Co. restaurant in the Ozarks, the post said.

"Originally, my two older boys, Sky and Sage, had plans on staying in Reeds Spring to run this location while I opened our other locations. Their college/career plans changed over the past few years, and we began discussing our options to be able to continue our goal of having a location outside of Reeds Spring," Grant wrote. "We didn't want to take the Pizza Co. out of Reeds Spring, so the best option was to sell this location."

The new owners announced on the company Facebook page that carryout and delivery service are available, with a Feb. 11 grand opening planned amid renovations of the restaurant.

A company spokesperson declined to disclose the financial terms of the ownership change. The new owners currently are seeking employees for the restaurant.

Flavie and Paul Lear opened Reeds Spring Pizza Co. in 2007, and it gained national attention in 2010 when USA Today named it the best pizza place in Missouri, according to Springfield Business Journal archives.

The company's website lists a dozen pizzas, such as the Galaxy, with four types of vegetables, pepperoni and Italian sausage, and the Reeds Spring, a pie with olive oil, sliced tomatoes, house-blend herbs, and fresh garlic and basil. The menu also offers cauliflower crust and an option for pizza toppings served on penne pasta.
