Pierceson Coody wins PCCC

Posted online

Pierceson Coody, 23, won this year's Price Cutter Charity Championship.

Coody shot 25 under par for the tournament that ended yesterday, according to a news release. He took home $180,000 out of a total purse of $1 million.

Coming into the tournament at Highland Springs Country Club in Springfield, Coody was facing a mid-season slump.

“I was kind of in a little bit of a funk, and it’s crazy that one week in golf can change everything and change your mindset,” Coody said in the release. “I mean, it’s so cliche, but it’s hard to put into words because it still doesn’t feel real."

Four golfers tied for second, including Coody’s twin brother, Parker Pierceson, officials say.

The PGA-sanctioned Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper on the Korn Ferry Tour doubles as a fundraiser for children's charities in the Ozarks. The fundraising total for the tournament typically is announced later in the year.

In November 2022, PCCC officials presented nearly $1.1 million to 54 Ozarks children's charities, according to past reporting. Since its debut in 1990, the tournament at Highland Springs has raised roughly $19.5 million for local charities.
