Watershed Committee of the Ozarks Inc. relocated Oct. 15 to the C.W. Titus Education Facility at the Watershed Center, 2400 E. Valley Water Mill Road. Executive Director
Mike Kromrey said the move to the nonprofit organization’s 3,200-square-foot education center was prompted by environmental cleanup at its downtown office, 320 N. Main Ave. Watershed Committee leased about 2,500 square feet at the City Utilities-owned property, where a $7.2 million soil remediation project is underway to clean up the site of a former gasoline plant. Prior to the move, Kromrey said four full-time staff members split time at the two offices. Watershed Committee works to sustain and improve water resources of Springfield and Greene County through watershed management projects and educational outreach programs. Citizens Memorial Hospital Education Center
Citizens Memorial Hospital opened the CMH Education Center, housing Bolivar Technical College and CMH Education Services, on Jan. 4 at 1135 N. Oakland Ave., Stes. 1-2. CMH spokeswoman
Tamera Heitz-Peek said the $4.2 million, 27,500-square-foot building was built by Larry Snyder & Co. H Design Group LLC was project architect. Heitz-Peek said the new space accommodates BTC’s growing student population and expands the health care provider’s education department. BTC and Texas County Technical College President
Charlotte Gray said BTC doubled its footprint with the move in anticipation of increasing registered nursing program enrollment and starting medical laboratory technology studies in the fall. Alps Pharmacy
Food Merchants LLC opened an Alps Pharmacy on March 3 in Ozarks Community Hospital, 2828 N. National Ave. Alps Sales and Marketing Director
Mike Petit said the second Springfield pharmacy leases 1,800 square feet from SGOH Acquisition Inc. Terms and startup costs were not disclosed. Food Merchants opened the first Alps store in February 2004 at 2650 W. Kearney St., and both are full-service pharmacies providing free medication delivery and retailing durable medical equipment, such as scooters and breathing ventilators. Petit said the specialty pharmacy also fills medications for chronic rare conditions, including hepatitis C and Crohn’s disease.
