3rabiana
A food truck dubbed 3rabiana opened Feb. 21 at 1535 E. Battlefield Road, in the parking lot of Old Time Pottery. Owner Abdulaziz Alharbi organized his business as Arabiana LLC to serve up Middle Eastern cuisine. He said startup costs were $65,000 to launch the food truck and a complementary catering business for which he owns a separate trailer to cater private events. Alharbi is 3rabiana’s sole employee, and he also works as a paramedic for CoxHealth. Southwest Asian and North African cuisines influenced the menu, he said, adding it offers options such as beef on hummus, falafel and shawarma. Prices range $3.50-$11. 3rabiana is one of four food trucks that do business in the Old Time Pottery parking lot.

MetaGolf
A new attraction teed off at Branson Landing with the June 9 opening of MetaGolf LLC. Zach Fletcher, who co-owns the business at 1217 Branson Landing Blvd. with his wife, Justyna, said MetaGolf provides a trio of golf simulator bays that players can rent for nine- or 18-hole games. The simulator features multisurface hitting mats, an automatic tee and a swing plate that has a moving floor to create different angles, such as downhill and uphill lies, for players to hit the ball. He said startup costs were $500,000, mostly funding the equipment for the bays, which include 4K projectors and software that features a virtual caddy and LED putting guide. Bay rental is $55 per hour until 3 p.m. Monday-Thursday and $65 after that time. The cost is $65 per hour Friday-Sunday. Fletcher said he and his wife signed a five-year lease for an undisclosed rate with Branson Landing owner HCW Development Co. LLC. The 3,000-square foot venue also sells refreshments, such as packaged snacks and beverages, he said.

Springfield Contemporary Theatre
Springfield Contemporary Theatre Inc. reached a deal last month with History Museum on the Square Inc. to occupy the Fox Theatre, 157 Park Central Square, as its primary venue, as of June 1, said Rick Dines, SCT’s managing artist director. Sean FitzGibbons, executive director of the History Museum, said the agreement is a profit share for an undisclosed amount during the upcoming season. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, SCT, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, was in search of a new home due to size limitations at Wilhoit Plaza. Its lease there was not renewed in January 2021, and MCT moved operations to 2025 E. Chestnut Expressway, Ste. D. Dines said SCT maintains the Chestnut Expressway space with uses including administrative offices, daytime box office and a rehearsal studio. The first show at Fox Theatre for SCT is “Urinetown,” which runs June 16-July 2. The five-employee organization is set to begin its 28th season this fall, according to officials.
