Four partners Feb. 15 started Kuat Innovations LLC on, designing, manufacturing and selling bicycle racks through a network of specialty bike shops. Kuat (pronounced Koo-at) Innovations’ warehouse and manufacturing operation is at 1326 E. Trafficway. Sixteen bike shops in five states – including Cycles Unlimited and Queen City Cycles in Springfield – sell Kuat Innovations’ lightweight aluminum racks, according to co-founder Luke Kuschmeader. Kuschmeader and Brian Atkinson founded the company and together own 80 percent. The other partners are Guy Mace, Turblex Inc. president and CEO, and John Raidel II, owner of Ridewell Corp. The Supply Shop
Mary Pratt and Laura Thomas opened The Supply Shop on Nov. 20 at 535 N. West Bypass, Ste. E. The women sell remanufactured printer and fax cartridges, and ribbons, ink and sealer for postal machines. The remanufactured printer and fax cartridges have new components and refilled toner, and they cost about half of new cartridges, Pratt said. Hours: 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Goff Heating & Air Conditioning
Owners Ron and Brenda Jackson moved Goff Heating & Air Conditioning on Feb. 4 to 3956 N. FR 143 after 27 years at 606 W. McDaniel St. Ron Jackson said they moved the business from a leased building on less than an acre to three acres that they own, where they plan to build a second building in 2009. Goff Heating & Air Conditioning sells, services and installs heating and air conditioning systems for commercial and residential clients.
