New York City restaurant owners say rising wage costs are taking a toll on their operations.
A group of more than 100 owners have proposed a 5 percent surcharge for all diners as the city's minimum wage rises to $15 next year.
“Allow us the option of using a clearly disclosed surcharge to generate the revenue to simply survive,” the owners wrote in an open letter to New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.
