KPM CPAs & Advisors ranked as the 40th midsize employer in Accounting Today’s 2023 Best Firms to Work For. The results are based on management and employer surveys by independent research firm Best Companies Group, and KPM scored among companies with 50-249 U.S. employees.

Legacy Bank and Trust Co. appointed Dustin Royster as Springfield market president. He has 16 years’ experience in banking, previously working as a senior vice president and commercial lending officer for the bank.

Evangel University added 14 faculty members for the 2023-24 academic year: Michael Butcher, professor of theater; Vincent Chodkowski, instructor of music technology and director of guitar; Michelle Coffman, general education and assessment program director-online learning; Christopher Ford, professor of education-doctoral; Kenneth George, associate professor of finance; Shelley Groves, associate professor of English; Amber Hainline and Kelly Hoskins, instructional designers-digital learning; Joseph Lear, director of theology and global church ministries; Maria Lewis, social work program coordinator; Traci Pritchard, associate professor of music; Lori Rogers, professor of education in literacy; Lauren Rudolph, applied biology and applied health program director-online learning; and Shelley Worley, assistant professor of early childhood education.

Law
Trial attorney Branden Twibell, a partner in Twibell Pierson Criminal Law LP, was named in The Best Lawyers in America 2024 edition. He made two criminal defense categories: general practice and white collar.

Marketing
Diana Tyndall, owner of Modern Day Marketing LLC, received two Clarion awards from the Association for Women in Communications. One award was for Tractor Barn Farm & Lawn’s storytelling video, and the other was for a U.S. Automotive television commercial.

Nonprofit
Champion Athletes of the Ozarks elected Nathan Rogers of Neale & Newman LLP to its board of directors. He holds a bachelor’s in finance and economics from Drury University and a Juris Doctor from University of Missouri.
The Missouri Department of Agriculture selected Springfield Community Gardens and the city of Republic among 17 grant awards for food insecurity projects. The Food Insecure Cost-Share Grant Program provides up to $50,000 per recipient to increase food production and availability within an urban area; demonstrate a local economic impact; or enhance already-established areas within a community and provide assistance.
