BKD LLP hired Kimberly Jones as director of its new tax-controversy practice. She has 18 years of experience providing tax advisory services to businesses and individuals.

BKD added Dwayne Tucker as a managing consultant. He has 25 years of experience in information technology and cybersecurity, his main focus for the company. Tucker’s emphasis is on computer forensics and ethical hacking.

The Missouri Senate confirmed Rob Dixon as director of the state Department of Economic Development. A former Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce economic development executive, Dixon was appointed last summer to statewide leadership by Gov. Eric Greitens.

Health Care
Citizens Memorial Hospital’s Robert Behnke completed his certification as an ergonomics assessment specialist II. He is a physical therapist and clinic manager for the Bolivar hospital, specializing in occupational health.

CoxHealth announced several promotions: William Mahoney to system senior vice president of its newly formed Community Hospital Group, in addition to his role as president of Cox Medical Center Branson; Darren Bass to system vice president of the Community Hospital Group; Wendy Duvall to president of Cox Barton County Hospital; Ashley Schuette to deputy general counsel of the Community Hospital Group; and Josh Powell to financial controller of Cox Monett Hospital and Cox Barton County Hospital.

Lowther Johnson Attorneys at Law LLC appointed associate attorney Kyle Harmon as a member. He works in banking law; business, commercial and corporate law; civil litigation; creditors’ rights; and real estate and landlord tenant law.

417 Magazine hired Beth Campbell as editor of 417 Home and staff writer, and Evan Greenberg as staff writer. With a bachelor’s in business from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, Campbell has worked 20 years in the publishing industry. Greenburg has a bachelor’s in journalism from the University of Georgia and most recently worked as a sports reporter at the Daily Tribune News in Cartersville, Georgia.

Seattle-based foster care foundation Casey Family Programs awarded Greene County 31st Judicial Circuit Court Judge Andy Hosmer with its Casey Excellence for Children Award. It honors Hosmer’s work in child welfare, most notably reforms in prioritizing slow-moving and high-need cases; launching a court specifically for older youth in foster care; and establishing a residential placement review hearing process.

Junior League of Springfield awarded Building Better Communities scholarships to Ozarks Technical Community College students Kristine Borneman, Tami Griffith and Amanda Stewart for the 2018 school year. Borneman is a behavioral health student, Griffith studies dental hygiene, and Stewart is enrolled in the dental assistant program.

The Missouri Propane Education & Research Council appointed Ferrellgas’ Kevin Pearson as one of five incoming directors leading the organization. Based at the Nixa office of Ferrellgas, he will serve a three-year term.

BLC Transportation Inc. hired Penny Richards as financial controller to oversee day-to-day accounting and financial affairs for its Springfield and Rolla operations. She formerly worked as financial controller for APT Transportation.
