Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley's office announced yesterday it filed suit against the owners of the Offsets, a popular recreation cove south of St. Louis.
Located 70 miles south of St. Louis in Fredericktown, the site is a “public nuisance” and “poses an unlawful risk to public safety," Hawley alleges.
At the flooded former quarry used as a swimming hole, two people died this month.
