Michelle Cantrell team joins Murney Associates

Posted online

Nearly seven-year Keller Williams Realty agent Michelle Cantrell has taken her team to Murney Associates, Realtors. The team has produced $54 million in sales this year.

Cantrell and her 10 employees, including sons Blake and Brent, made the switch earlier this month. With 30 administrative staff, Murney has more than 500 real estate agents who are independent contractors, said Marketing Director Kyle Drenon.

“She’s an independent contractor and still is. They choose which company to hold their license with,” he said of Cantrell.

Companywide, Murney is on track to at least match last year’s sales of $965.8 million, he said. Among her clients, Cantrell markets all of Bussell Building Inc.’s newly constructed homes, Drenon said.

Murney ranked No. 1 in Springfield on the Real Trends 500 2017 list, ranked by sales volume. Keller Williams Realty was second with $551.1 million in sales last year.

“I moved to Murney because I feel working with the largest brokerage in Springfield with the most agents is important,” Cantrell said in a news release. “The largest brokerage gets the most agents through the door to view those listings so that they sell faster.”

Cantrell and her team remain at their 1524 E. Primrose St. office — where she previously was a contractor for Keller Williams — across the street from Murney.

She previously served as a broker through Murney for nearly two years before joining Keller Williams in January 2011, according to her LinkedIn page.
