Kansas doctor pleads guilty to role in fraud scheme

A Kansas doctor has pleaded guilty to his role in a telemedicine scheme that defrauded Medicare to the tune of $16 million.

Gautam Jayaswal, 64, of Overland Park, Kansas, could face up to five years in prison.

Working as a telemedicine doctor, Jayaswal fraudulently ordered orthotic braces, according to prosecutors.
