Jump Mania changing hands, moving in new year

Posted online

After 10 years in Kansas Plaza, Jump Mania LLC has new owners and is moving farther south to a new development on West Republic Road.

Brad and April Davis last week bought half of the inflatables company from Trevor Crist, and Brad Davis said they plan to purchase the rest of the ownership of the company from Steve Strobel by March. He declined to disclose terms of the deal.

“My wife actually has managed (Jump Mania) for the past few months, so we already knew Steve and we approached him," Davis said.

The planned move next year from 2745 S. Kansas Expressway to 7,500 square feet at 3202 W. Republic Road was in the works before the Davises began talks to purchase Jump Mania. Strobel is business partners with Greg Snider in Ozarks Investment Properties LLC, which is developing the Republic Road building.

“The space was built for Jump Mania,” said Snider, owner of Ozarks Investment Properties. “It has taller ceilings and birthday party rooms on the second floor.”

Snider said the party rooms have retractable walls that can make one large room upstairs or up to four small rooms. He said the $1.4 million construction for the entire 15,850-square-foot development is expected to wrap-up in early January. Davis said Jump Mania plans to open in the new space by early February.

Davis said Jump Mania’s new home is similar in size to its current location but it is better laid out, allowing for two additional party rooms, as well as air hockey and video games to reach an “older sibling” demographic.

“We’re changing out some of the inflatables,” he added. “Everything will be a little different and fresh.”

In addition, Jump Mania will start renting 25-30 outdoor inflatables, something Davis said the company used to offer.

Jump Mania, which signed a five-year lease, fills the back portion of the development, and five suites, at 1,375 square feet each, line the front of the building. The price per square foot is $13-$17, Snider said. SVN Rankin Co. LLC is the broker.

Three tenants, including a restaurant, currently are pending for the suites, Snider said.
