The U.S. Senate yesterday approved President Donald Trump’s choice to lead the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The 61-37 vote gave the nod to Jay Clayton, an attorney who specializes in mergers and acquisitions and capital markets offerings.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Clayton hopes to turn around the decline in the number of public companies over the past 20 years.
