Greene County ranked 189th in second-quarter wage growth among the 346 counties measured by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
During the quarter, Greene County residents earned an average of $789 per week. That represents a 2.7 percent increase from second-quarter 2016, according to a news release.
Greene had the lowest weekly wage and the third-lowest percentage change rank among the seven Missouri counties in the report.
The Show-Me State’s counties, by second-quarter average weekly wages and percentage growth rank, are:
• St. Louis City, $1,077, No. 52;
• St. Louis, $1,059, No. 253;
• Jackson, $1,021, No. 125;
• Clay, $904, No. 183;
• St. Charles, $823, No. 333;
• Boone, $822, No. 102; and
• Greene, $789, No. 189.
The U.S. average weekly wage rose by 3.2 percent to $1,020 in the second quarter, according to the release.
