Billionaire philanthropist George Soros has turned over control of his $25 billion financial and charitable empire.
He said his son, Alex, "earned it."
The family's wealth has been used to support democracy-building efforts in dozens of countries since the 1990s. George Soros also is one of the largest donors to the Democratic Party.
