The Cape Girardeau-based chain operates 62 stores across Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky and Arkansas. To make way for its latest store, Plaza Tire had the South Campbell Avenue building demolished. It previously housed a number of restaurants in recent years – most recently La Mision. The other Plaza Tire stores are on East Sunshine Street, in a retrofitted building, and West Sunshine Street, adjacent to Springfield Plaza. Company officials have said they planned three stores in the city.
