Fertilizer kills 750K fish in Iowa, Missouri

A fertilizer spill this month in southwest Iowa killed more than 750,000 fish in that state and Missouri.

The spill originated from a facility in Red Oak, Iowa, operated by New Cooperative.

Some 265,000 gallons of liquid nitrogen fertilizer leaked. Fish were killed in the Nishnabotna River, which flows into the Missouri River.
