Ella Weiss Wedding Design LLC is slated to close in downtown Springfield 12 years after opening.
Owner Stephanie Weiss cited plans to focus on the wedding and event-planning side of her business. Starting tomorrow, the 400 E. Walnut St. store will hold a liquidation sale for dresses, as well as fixtures, furniture and equipment, according to a news release.
Reached via email this morning, Weiss declined to disclose how much she expects to make on the liquidation sale, but noted she has bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses and other products in the shop.
“We do not have a specific end date at present. Our goal is to sell the inventory as soon as possible,” she said in the email.
Founded in 2005, Ella Weiss Wedding Design has operated at its Walnut Street home since its inception, Weiss said. She declined to disclose 2017 revenue.
Weiss said she would continue to operate the event-planning side of the business under the Ella Weiss name, but she will not need a storefront for the operation.
