Galloway Creek Development Group LLC plans to break ground by the end of the week on a $7.7 million mixed-use project in Galloway Village.

Larry Snyder and Co. is on board to construct the two-building commercial and residential development at 3938 S. Lone Pine Ave. Buxton Kubik Dodd Creative designed the 46,372-square-foot project to be built on land owned by Galloway Creek Development Group, said Jamie Thomas, vice president of sales and marketing for Entrust Property Solutions LLC. Brent Brown, CEO of property management company Entrust, is a co-owner of the development group. Entrust also will manage the property.

Dubbed Galloway Creek, the development will be built with ground-floor commercial space below 66 loft-style apartments, Thomas said. The Jalili family, who also co-own the development group with Brown and silent partners, will use a 4,500-square-foot portion of the commercial space for a new restaurant called Chops. The Jalilis’ previous plans to open Chops — billed as a boutique steakhouse — in Galloway Village were put on hold as the family focused on the Black Sheep Burgers and Shakes concept, according to Springfield Business Journal archives.

Thomas said the owners have had discussions with other commercial tenants, but no other leases are signed. Nearly 7,300 square feet of commercial space is available beyond plans for Chops.

Located just south of the Township 28 apartment complex owned by TLC Properties and less than a mile north of Republic Road, Galloway Creek is scheduled to open in fall 2018, Thomas said.

The apartments will comprise 30 studios and 36 one-bedroom units described as “urban-style luxury.”

“The lofts will suggest a lifestyle rivaling those traditionally found only in larger cities,” Brown said in a news release.
