Springfield's newest Chick-fil-A restaurant is opening this week.

The 2355 N. Glenstone Ave. eatery is scheduled to debut at 6 a.m. on Thursday, according to a news release.

“The opportunity to serve more guests in the community, and provide further growth for our team members, is one I could not pass up,” franchisee Brian Heberlie said in the release.

Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A confirmed plans for the store in May 2023, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting. The restaurant is located next to a Whataburger store at the corner of Glenstone and Kearney Street, where the former Springfield Inn was demolished to make way for the new development.

The land that's home to Chick-fil-A and Whataburger restaurants is owned by Naples C Store LLC, according to Greene County assessor records. That LLC is registered with the Missouri secretary of state's office to Brad Thessing, a developer behind the project at the high-traffic intersection.

The Chick-fil-A restaurant is the third standalone eatery from the chain in Springfield, along with locations at 425 W. Sunshine St. and 3700 S. Glenstone Ave. Heberlie also is the franchisee behind the Sunshine location. Additionally, the company has eateries inside Battlefield Mall and the Plaster Student Union at Missouri State University, according to its website.

The release indicates Heberlie is responsible for employing some 100 full- and part-time employees.

Outside of Springfield, Branson's second Chick-fil-A restaurant opened last month, according to past reporting.
