Chairman Ajit Pai under investigation at FCC

The Federal Communications Commission's inspector general is investigating whether Chairman Ajit Pai improperly used his power to benefit Sinclair Broadcasting.

Pai reportedly relaxed rules on television ownership, thereby creating a loophole allowing Sinclair's planned $3.9 billion buyout of Tribune Media, according to Fortune.

Sinclair Broadcasting also has reportedly pushed its local news stations to run commentary segments in support of the Trump administration.
